Careers

Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.

Although “straight friendly,” our goal is to set the travel standard for what we call the Bent Community (the not-so-straight, nerdy cool, khakis by day leather by night, long pink hair (or crew cut), black nail polish (or no nail polish), nose ring, wedding ring, boxing ring, hairy, smooth, fem, masc, butch, he, she, they, them, Jack and Coke, dirty martini, daiquiri, top, btm, vers, side, switch and all the rest of us that make life interesting).

We are getting ready to open and are looking for very unique individuals to work with us as we forge new paths.

Hit the ground running! Better yet, hit the kitchen cooking!

We are a new, small boutique hotel opening in downtown Las Vegas, primarily catering to the LGBTQ+ community. We will open with 33 rooms and a gastropub with 50+ seats served by a small food truck size kitchen. We want our menu to be a fun and unique twist on the typical pub fare.

We are looking for a fun, outgoing addition to our family to run our center of culinary excellence (also known as a kitchen). If you are a leader with at least 3 years of experience, read on!

As the Kitchen Manager at Bent Inn & Pub, you will help craft our inaugural menu, keep it up to date with seasonal changes, cook (of course), maintain inventory, place orders all while ensuring your kitchen runs flawlessly (or as flawlessly as possible). Since it will be your kitchen, you will also be involved with all aspects of leading the kitchen team: Hiring, scheduling, training, and reprimanding (we hope not, but it does happen). Give us a shout, we’re looking forward to meeting you!

Take note! We are a startup.

What does that mean? There’s a lot of work ahead. There’s also a lot of reward (hopefully). It’s not a job for the faint of heart, we won’t sugarcoat it… startups are hard, full of unexpected challenges and long hours, but also a fantastic opportunity to start developing (or continue developing) your identity in a fun and rewarding atmosphere. You will work directly with the owners of the project/adventure and the General Manager as we create a new destination in downtown, Fremont East.

We will give special consideration to candidates who take the time to read our entire listing and include a cover letter that contains the following phrase: “I’m a little Bent.”

It all starts with you!

Quick story. We researched others’ descriptions of front desk positions. We found again and again, they were looking for “well-groomed” professionals. What does that even mean today? Frankly, if you just came from Petco and were done up like a poodle, we’d be completely impressed…We decided to take a generic front desk job description and have a little fun with it. So, let’s get this show on the road.

We are looking for a well-groomed (ha ha, couldn’t resist), friendly hotel front desk person to be responsible for welcoming guests, managing online and telephonic (means over the phone for those of you who are like wtf?) bookings, and verifying guests’ payment methods during check-in. You should have a pleasant (but not boring) and professional disposition (disposition = personality) with guests and other hotel staff. The funner (sic) the better!

To be successful as a hotel front desk , you should provide guests with information about the hotel (we have brunch on the weekends, guests are welcome to use the spa anytime, day or night) and surrounding area, and stay up-to-date on attractions that may be of interest to guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Checking guests in and out (not checking out guests…)
  • Receiving and managing reservations made online and telephonically (again, by phone)
  • Verifying guests’ payment methods during check-in (um…does this just seem like it’s becoming a repeat of the paragraph above?)
  • Assigning rooms to guests and informing them of any specials offered by the hotel (definitely repeating)
  • Organizing transport services for guests at their request (your scooter does not count)
  • Providing guests with information about the hotel
  • Keeping abreast of attractions that may be of interest to guests (there’s a joke here…but we’re being civil)

Requirements:

  • High school qualification or equivalent
  • Previous hospitality experience would be advantageous (this is a serious one)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-presented and professional appearance (um, not sure about the “well-presented,” but everyone enjoys a show)
  • Ability to learn on the job (this should go without saying, but if you are unable to learn on the job, how can you learn the job?)
  • Excellent customer service skills (oh my…)
  • Must have flexible hours (hours, just hours)

A Few More Details:

  • Hourly wage: $14 – $16
  • Benefits: Profit Sharing, Employee Discounts, Health Insurance Options
  • Shift information: Days, Weekends
  • Location: Downtown Las Vegas
  • Required qualifications: 3+ years industry work experience, positive attitude, flexibility
  • Type of job: 1 Part-time
